I’m a programmer, boring business application stuff. It would be nice to write the next Angry Birds, but to just see an app of my own in the App Store would be nice.

  14. Learn to Fly

Did this!As a little kid I wanted to be a pilot. While I didn’t make a career of it, in my early 20s I saved my arse off and learnt to fly. Even learnt to fly aerobatics – loops and rolls and stuff. I haven’t flown in a few years now but once the kids are older I will take it up again.

  32. Dawn Service at ANZAC Cove

I’m a bit of a history nut – read everything, especially military history. I want to attend the Dawn Service at ANZAC Cove.Relatively simple except there’s a hitch, at least in my mind. Its INCREDIBLY POPULAR. Watching dick head bogan backpackers on TV yelling “Happy ANZAC Day!” like its New Year’s Eve at ANZAC Cove was incredibly off putting. For that reason I’m hesitant to do this one. If I do, I will probably go some other time of year, or maybe in 2016, after the 100th anniversary when hopefully its quieter. That probably makes me come across as some sort of snob elitist – hardly I live in Blacktown after all! But for me its a solemn occasion and I’d rather remember it as such…

Done it! Went for a joy flight in a vintage DH82 Tiger Moth at Luskintyre :-)

  40. Swim with Dolphins

    Kangaroo Island January 2012

  41. Fly an Airliner

When I was a little kid I wanted to be an airliner pilot. I learnt to fly but never made it to the airlines. Next best thing, in 2007 the family bought me a voucher for the B737 simulator at Darling Harbour. We were supposed to do some basics, but once the staff found out that I had a private license, they let me fly circuits at Hong Kong’s old Kai Tak airport – that’s the one where you fly AT the mountain then turn at the last minute to land on the runway. After an hour of that including an engine failure of finals I was sweating – but it was AWESOME

  42. Run the City 2 Surf

Probably for a decade I wanted to do this. Every year we’d get to July – oops too late. Next year.Fast forward to 2008 – I looked in the mirror and didn’t like what I saw. I joined the gym and got a personal trainer. She kicked my arse into gear. I lost nearly 20kg and soon found myself running 10km. Then disaster, found I had a hernia and needed surgery. 2 weeks out from the 2009 City 2 Surf I got the ok to run from the doctor and finished the City 2 Surf! Since then I’ve run 3 and next month is my 4th, I’ve also done 3 half marathons and I’m planning my first marathon!

  43. Brew My Own Beer

    This should be easy

  44. Fly in a Seaplane

Fly in a seaplane – preferably a PBY CatalinaThere’s only one in Australia – looking for contacts at HARS…

  45. Keep a Diary or Journal

When I was a kid, my grandfather kept a diary.Everyday he wrote about the things that happened in his life, and after his death they provided an amazing window into his life. This was a man born before the Wright Brothers first flew, who lived through two world wars, the moon landing and so much more.I wanted to be like him and keep a diary when I was ten. It lasted about a month. Years later when I found that journal it gave me an insight into what I was thinking or doing back then.Well – since 2010 I’ve been keeping a diary everyday. Some of it is mundane “Went to work” but some of it is interesting to flick back and see what I was doing a year ago or more ago.

  46. Drive a Ford Falcon XY GT-HO

In 1971, the year I was born, the Ford Falcon XY GT-HO was the fastest 4 car sedan on the planet and won the Hardie Ferodo 1000 at Bathurst. I’d love to take one for a drive… :-)

  47. Fly in a Lancaster Bommber

Fat Chance. There are two airworthy in the world. One in the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial flight – its maintained and operated by the RAF and the other in Canada. There is one that taxies in the UK – that’ll do.

  51. Meet an Astronaut

Ideally I would have liked to meet Neil Armstrong – he was a hero of mine growing up. I know someone who did – was very jealous.Back in 2002 I did get to meet Dr Harrion Schmitt who was the last man on the moon (well actually second last – Gene Cernan climbed in last). He was the only “scientist” (a geologist) who went to the moon and came to Australia to give a series of talks.I hope to at least meet a few others – better hurry up as they aren’t getting any younger.

  52. Get Married in Vegas by Elvis

The only thing cooler than getting hitched in Vegas is getting Elvis to perform the ceremony

  53. See a rocket launch

In the 70s every little boy dreamed of being an astronaut and flying to the moon. Later it became the desire to fly into space in the Space Shuttle. Sadly neither of those came true. The launch of a Space Shuttle would have been the next best thing but even that was hard to arrange with missions postponed etc. and with the retirement of the Shuttle I am quite happy to settle with watching a real rocket launch into space.
