After wanting to do this for ages, I finally attended a course at Melbourne Zoo.

  10. Have one of my wildlife photographs printed in National Geographic magazine

After listening to Seb’s presentation at my seminar last week, I have been prompted to do something tangible to make this happen. I already had the trip to South Africa booked, so I went shopping for an updated camera body to match my spanking new lens (thanks to my fiance) and have now researched how to get a photo printed in National Geographic. I’ve downloaded all of the necessary release forms so that if I get the money shot on my trip, I am able to submit it for consideration. Now I just have to get creative with my picture taking and see what happens…

  22. Give a baby rhinoceros a mud bath

If I could do anything on this list, it would be to stop the decline of rhino poaching. These beautiful, ancient and imposing creatures are being poached in record numbers so that ignorant people who will not believe that rhino horn has no medicinal properties can create a lucrative market for poachers. I am happy to donate all of my finger and toe nail clippings to these people to meet their need for keratin in useless concoctions. That said, the offspring of poached mothers need care and I had the privelege of being able to assist in the care of Timbi at “Care for Wild Africa” in South Africa. This is the start of our mud bath which got much messier. Say no to illegal animal trading!

  23. Have something named after me

    Item Description

  24. Hand feed an adult giraffe

    image

Big fat tick! How exciting to actually feed an adult. I am so lucky to have bottle fed baby giraffes many times during my voluntary work in Africa but I’ve never fed an adult before this. Giraffes are truly spectacular and it looks like this fella enjoyed it as much as I did! Thanks for the smile!
