March 6th, 2012… Email of the Week

In keeping with the new¬† ‘Email of the Week’ updates, I just thought I’d share with you a funny little email I receivced from a girl called Kate today. Kate is another person who is now looking at changing the way they live (which is just awesome!) but also she left me chuckling with the imagery of the last sentence! Thanks Kate.

“Hey Seb

I just recently returned from a month in Africa. I took your book to read while I was away. Not only did I read it in one day, you have inspired me to not only write my own list but to realize that there is more to life than just work.

I was only talking to my mum the other day and said I could live in Africa, she said come home to where you belong. Not only did this p*$s me off, but I realized that I found where I belong. My main goal for the next 12 months is to sort my financial stuff out and get back to Africa.

There are so many needy people in the world, how do you choose where to start to help? My 100 things are still waiting to be written because there is just so much that I want to do and so many people I want to help.

Thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the good work, you are a legend, so courageous in giving it all up to not only do things you want but to help so many people along the way and be where you need to be.

Love your work

P.S I left your book on the truck in Africa. I know 2 of the guys did the same, read the book in 1 day and started there own list. Hopefully it travels all of Africa and inspires so many more people.”

What an email and best of luck creating that list Kate! Just start writing and it will all fall into place :)

p.s If there is anyone of course travelling through Africa at the moment and you happen to find a dusty copy of 100 Things sitting in the back seat of a overloaded Land Rover (most likely on Safari)- Kate and I hope you enjoy it!

100 Things… What’s on your list?
