Well in the aftermath of the 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge, one of the hardest fundraising events I’ve ever taken part in, I was absolutely honoured (and relieved!) to be able to hand over a giant novelty cheque to Alzheimer’s Australia last week for $40,000!!
From midday on November 14th to midday on November 15th, hundreds of incredibly supportive and motivated individuals joined me at the Fitness Energy gymnasium in Melbourne as 16 separate treadmills ran hot for the entire period.
Making national news across Australia, the day was one of community and commitment to a great cause.
Needless to say that to everyone who ran, walked, dressed up and of course donated, I thank you greatly. A huge thanks must go to Jane from Fitness Energy who arranged the whole event alongside my goal of raising $100,000 for Alzheimer’s Australia. Just quietly Jane just so happens to be an incredible athlete in managed to run 150kms in total!
There is a lot to say but for now all i’ll say is that with another $60,000 to raise for this amazing organisation, we’ve just confirmed that we will run the event again next year!
